Currently hailing from Westport, Connecticut, Canyon. is a self-proclaimed "Song Peddler and Storyteller" who takes a confessional approach to all of her melodically distinctive Indie/Folk originals. Accompanied by long-time friend Andrew Maturana, who provides percussion on cajon and haunting vocal harmonies, they form a uniquely compelling duo that sources influence from the likes of Cat Stevens and Tracy Chapman. Their folk roots are undeniable and organic, as well as Canyon.'s namesake which comes from lyrics in the song "Thrasher" by Neil Young.

Canyon.'s emergence onto the music scene began with The Break Contest 2010 when they were the only acoustic act to be selected to perform at The Bamboozle Festival 2010, which boasted an estimated attendance of 20,000. Since January 2011, Canyon. has been performing in a variety of festivals and venues throughout the Northeast. They are currently working on the full-length follow-up CD to the 2010 EP Aeroplanes & Astronauts.

Even before Mariko was handed her first acoustic guitar at 15, she knew she wanted to pursue music. Although she spent the first five years of her life in Japan, Mariko grew up in the suburbs of Boston, where she was lured and encouraged by the local music scene. She began actively songwriting during her high school years, and her took her aspirations to New York soon thereafter.

Throughout her college years, Mariko gained a tight following in the local music scene. She competed at various band battles and was voted by the student body for top slots at countless popular campus events. During her four years she shared the stage with notable artists Lifehouse, Pitbull, and the Gin Blossoms. She has also performed at prominent venues throughout Boston and NYC, most notably at The Middle East, Harpers Ferry, Spike Hill, and The Bowery Poetry Club.

Tarra Layne's pre-released single and video, “Beautiful Day”, has created notable chatter. It’s laid-back, summer-lovin’ groove makes you wanna kick 'em up and throw one back.  The soulful singer's self-titled debut was released November 2011.

Since returning home from Music City in late 2010, life has been more than kind to the Pittsburgh, PA native. Tarra Layne is building quite the following, making bold moves, and the future is looking mighty bright for the singer. While settling into her return, The Pittsburgh Tribune Review followed her, cameras in hand, documenting The Life of a Struggling Artist.  She swooned the listeners of Froggy 95 last summer in the Rocket to the Stars Contest and opened for up and coming country artist, DJ Miller.  She was also broadcast on 93.7 The Fan, working a rendition of Zeppelin tune, “Rock ‘n Roll”.  The feature earned her a spot gracing the cover of Smokescreen Magazine for a special music edition in October.  She recently competed in the Sing Off! at the Consol Energy Center and victored valiantly, before celebrities Kym Johnson of “Dancing With The Stars” and football prodigy Jerome Bettis hit the stage.

The redhead is on fire and is gearing up to catch any challenge that is thrown her way. At this pace, Tarra Layne may just be the new broad bringing back pop-rock 'n roll-soul with sass.
